ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

A Virginia Beach native since 1990, Igor Acord owns and operates an artist studio in the ViBe Creative District. Born in 1968, Igor lived in Vermont through high school before moving to Ocean City, MD to work with a band. Six years later, 17th Street Surf company hired Igor as a visual merchandiser and he spent a decade working creatively in the surf culture. This job relocated him to Virginia Beach where he later decided to pursue painting fulltime as a career. Two decades later, Igor has smeared paint all over Hampton Roads and the surround area. While a favorite sign painter for local businesses, Igor has worked with national brand and celebrity clients alike. His shop is renown for the World’s Smallest Museum, a collection of oddities he has found or been gifted. Holidays are a busy season for Igor who typically send two full months painting hundreds of XXX-balls. Additionally, Igor has hosted the VB Flea for eight years, supporting hundreds of local, small business vendors. Giving back to the military is also important to Igor, who donated custom artwork each year for military fundraisers as a way to support families and veterans. Igor’s tip to young creatives is: If you want to get involved, just ask.
