I made the hard decision to embrace the weird in me.

What might happen, in our community and around the world, if once a month -- on the same day -- we encouraged each other to do one thing for someone or something we care about?

Will people be into this? Will people like it? Will people come? Is this whole plan gonna work? Can I make a passion project a full-time gig?

I had this crazy idea in my head. And I did it. I made it happen and I felt really good about it.

Who of us doesn’t struggle to find our voice and say what really matters to us?

“You’re not for everyone. And that’s OK. The people who you are for will find you.”

“The idea of the small gesture. that we have no idea what the ripples of that small gesture will be.”

Say the thing. Send the text. Say the compliment. Tell the person you love their dress.

Health is the intellectual ability to adapt. And if you just keep going, and going at the pace that you are and you’re not allowing yourself to give yourself recognition for all that you’ve done, for all that you’ve sacrificed, all that you’ve provided for, you are missing out on some of the essence of life for you.

It is your duty to authentically express yourself so that way you can give people who are also going through that similar storm right now hope, inspiration, space, an ability just to be seen.

Community…. The ability for your community to reflect at you the power and things that you cannot see within yourself and that is powerful.

simple ≠ easy

You are all the true treasure... within our spaces, within the community, within the connections that we bond together. Connections we cultivate both internally and externally and how we serve each other in the world and in our community around.

And for those of us who live without religion, there is in this kind of spirituality, the everyday holiness of this interconnected world, the word whole, it has its indo European origin. And the notion of the interleaving of all things. And for those of us who live without religion, there is in this kind of spirituality, the everyday holiness of the interconnected world. In fact, to me, the most spiritual experience we can have is the wondrous this adventure of being awake to life, and meeting reality on its own terms.

In job interviews, I should have led with my disability as a differentiating strength...

So here’s where you come in, the next generation... And thank goodness for the next generation, your generation – proud to be you, to be an individual, okay with being unique. I found that in our own children. They’ve always stood tall. They’ve never been invisible. They’ve always been the light in our lives.

We are on this earth to really impact one another, uplift each other, encourage each other. If someone has a dream or wants to see something happen in their life, be a dog with a bone for them.
